Lattice Communications Offers Fire Suppression

Safety Detection, Prevention & Protection

Do you ever wonder if fire suppression systems were created because of the great Chicago fire in 1871? If Mrs. O’Leary’s barn had been equipped with a suppression system, perhaps Chicago’s history would have changed. Or maybe someone else’s cow would have kicked over the kerosene lamp in their barn instead and Chicago would have had the same fate. We will never know the answer to that but we can’t help but wonder, what if?

What is a fire suppression system you might ask and how does it work? Fire suppression is using a system to deploy a water-based or dry chemical agent to help diminish the fire and prevent it from spreading. Automatic fire sprinklers were the first form of fire containment created in the late 1800’s. Depending on your business and equipment, water based systems may not be right for you. Electrical components could easily be damaged by the water and cause more business downtime. In cases like that, dry chemicals or gaseous fire suppression systems are a better alternative.

Dry chemical systems coat equipment with a chemical powder designed to stop the fire. Vehicles of all types will require a chemical suppressant system because of the flammable fuels and oils used in them. These systems can be applied to a single item or to an entire room if needed. Full room application is useful in instances where hazardous and flammable liquids are stored and fire spread would be dire.

Another alternative is a gaseous form of fire suppression, also known as a clean agent suppression system. This method does not coat equipment with a chemical nor does it damage it by water. It is designed to eliminate certain factors that cause a fire, such as oxygen or carbon dioxide. Because these systems eliminate oxygen from the air, they are not recommended for use in an occupied business.

Water based systems are the most commonly used form of fire suppression due to their reliability and effectiveness. We at Lattice Communications are a proud partner of Kiddie Fire Systems and we can help you find the right system today. Contact us for more information on what we have to offer. If only Mrs. O’Leary had utilized a fire suppression system back in 1871…

fiber optics TURNKEY installation ALEXANDER graham bell
Harnessing Light to Move Information Faster:
Alexander Graham Bell would be proud

It started with Alexander Graham Bell  in the 1880s, who first experimented with the use of light to carry sound. To him, fiber optics we have surely have been thought of as science fiction. Today installing fiber optics cable is a very real way CFOs can save millions a year on data transfer costs.

Fiber optics is the fastest, clearest and most secure way to transmit information.  It dramatically reduces long distance telephone costs, increases the speed of the Internet, improves the clarity of voice and television image transmissions and increases the security of network computer systems.  All of this is accomplished by harnessing light, into cables.  It still sounds like science fiction, right?  Not so.

We use fiber optics every day, from
cloud computing, telephone and data
transmission & storage. But owning
your own fiber network is what can
save millions.
Government agencies, school systems and medium to large corporations all find that information via computer and telephone is much more cost effective, using their own fiber optic networks, than any other available option.  Even Google is creating a “fiberhood”, which is their experimental lab in Kansas City, KS.  They are creating the ability to interact with the Internet at 100 times the current speed.  This experiment with fiber networks is showing that we can use light/fiber optics, to experience a cheaper, higher quality, more secure and very much faster flow of information.

The fiber optic network can be installed in any location and made to connect remote branches with one another and with corporate offices.  For far less cost overall, than other options available today,  it can provide a sharing of pertinent information via any organization’s  fiber optic Internet  at a very high level of security.  This fact alone makes industries such as Health Care, insurance companies and others affected by privacy requirements prime candidates for the fiber optic application.

On the Internet, one will find several companies who specialize in the installation of fiber optic cable. The up-front cost of laying the cable and connecting telephone and computer systems to it is an investment to be sure.  However, the payoff starts from that point onward  in dramatically reduced costs for phone, web and cable access.  Aside from initial set up costs, it seems that fiber optic networks offer zero down-side.
We've come a long way from experimenting with light! Fiber optics offer numerous technological and cost saving advantages. Everything You Need to Know About Generators!

Generators provide a continuous, reliable source of power during unexpected utility outages. Common uses for generators include keeping electricity running for security systems, delivering power to a construction site, acting as a backup system in the event of an emergency, or even providing a life support system with continuous power at all times.

In addition to being a source of power for businesses, generators are also available for residential users. Our generators come in a variety of fuel sources and sizes to suit your needs. We offer diesel, LP gas, and natural gas generators and in sizes ranging from 7.5 KW up to 2,000 KW.

Large or small, generators are an essential part of your business. Whether you have a small company or a shelter full of mission critical networking equipment, having a generator readily available is key.

Regardless if your power demands are industrial, commercial or residential – you need dependable electricity to accomplish your day-to-day tasks. Power outages can last days - costing you hours in productivity and denying you a critical component to your daily function.

Lattice Communications has formed elite partnerships with numerous generator providers across the nation for new and refurbished units from several of our partners including Cummins, Generac, Blue Star and Kohler. In addition, we offer several fuel types including: diesel, LP gas, natural gas and propane. We are able to bring you products that are dependable, easy to maintain and cost-efficient. Contact us today for more information on how we can provide you with the generator for your specifications.
